About
My research interests have long been in lexis, language learning, distance learning and new technologies. Particular current interests focus on direct applications of corpus linguistics in language learning and teaching – data-driven learning. I've been a member of the CRAPEL research team (ATILF/CNRS, Nancy-Université) since 2004 where I’ve worked on various projects involving ICT for language learning / teaching, such as EPCO and currently FLEURON.
I’m chair of CorpusCALL, the EuroCALL SIG for corpus use in language teaching and learning; a member of the committees for TaLC (Teaching and Language Corpora) and for GERAS (Groupe d’Etudes et de Recherche en Anglais de Spécialité). I’m also a member of the review panels for ReCALL and CALL-EJ. My main teaching is at ERUDI (Université Nancy 2) which offers distance degrees (BA and MA) in English, teaching courses in general linguistics, applied linguistics, corpus linguistics, lexicology, history of the English language, and translation. Face-to-face teaching has been mainly English for non-majors, and for teacher training.
For what it's worth, my mother wasn't a hamster and my father doesn't smell of elderberries.
Publications can mostly be accessed via my homepage at http://arche.univ-nancy2.fr/course/view.php?id=967
